DoSelect Assessment- Pin Approach

Introduction

We’ve introduced a new Pin System for tests, providing you with more control and visibility when using DoSelect’s products. Starting July 24, 2025, all your product credits—whether for General Assessments, Project-based, or SpeechSense—have been consolidated into a single PIN balance.

This change is designed to simplify how you track usage, invite candidates, and plan hiring drives across teams and roles.

As of this date, the revision in approach is limited to Assessment types ( General, Project-based based and SpeechSense), not applicable for Contest and Interview.

Why This Change Was Made

We heard from customers that using different credits for each type of assessment was confusing and made it harder to use advanced options like SpeechSense or project-based tests. To make things easier and more flexible, we’ve introduced a simpler, unified system.

Until now:

Each product had its own pin (or credit) type.
SpeechSense and Project-based assessments were previously deducted at the same rate as General Assessments (one pin), even though they deliver more advanced evaluations.
Advanced proctoring was billed separately, and one pin was deducted for every consumption.

With the new system:

All credits are unified under Universal Pins.
Pins are now deducted based on product usage.
Past balances are frozen, and your new balance starts from a fresh, transparent baseline.
Advanced Proctoring is now made available across all products.

What This Means for You

Here’s how your previous PIN balances were converted into the new system:

This becomes your new starting balance. All usage begins afresh from this balance.

Where Can You Find Old Usage?

We’ve preserved all your historical data.

Click on the header pins count (i) icon in the dashboard or click on billing from the profile page
You will notice usage prior to migration under: Consumption before July 24, 2025
This helps you review historical patterns without affecting the current balance.

Key FAQs:

1. Why do SpeechSense and Project based now deduct 2 pins?

These are advanced evaluation tools that offer richer candidate insights. The updated logic ensures transparent pricing and fair usage.

2. Can we still purchase product-specific credits?

No. All purchases now contribute to your Universal Pin balance, which works across all supported products.

3. Will we lose any pins during the migration?

Not at all. All active pins have been accurately converted and rounded up where necessary. You’re starting with the full value of your entitlements in the new system.

4. What happens to invites that were already sent before the change?

Any invites sent and consumed before July 24, 2025, will follow the old logic. Any new invites post-migration will deduct pins as per the Universal Pin rules.

5. What will happen if I delete the unused pins in a test?

All unused pins if the invite is deleted will be credited back as per the new logic, automatically updating your current balance and remaining pins value.
